We do not ship in our plants. That is, all of our plants are started on site from untreated and/or organic seed and soil. We then nurture them with the best local care to ensure a superior product. Along those same lines, we do not ship out our plants either and only sell on site seven days a week.

In addition to what we grow on site, we feature products from other local growers as well. From our very own cucumbers and dill to the ever popular Anderson Truck Farms Bi-Color Sweet Corn.

In 2020 we added the largest variety of flowers we’ve ever had, with the Benary’s Giant Zinnia remaining our signature flower. For 2021 we have tripled the number of available flowers.

I am looking forward to seeing pictures of them coming up 🙂
Yay! I was able to start seeding the Lizzie‘s today! There is 100 seeds in each packet and each row has 100 Seeds! So each one of those little containers has 300 seeds! It is vitally important that the soil is saturated underneath the seeds (must bottom water) and after they are planted, they must have moisture added to them with a mister! I am currently regulating the temperature and the light in the first two trays! They will need 16 hours of light, and the temperature needs to be maintained between 70 and 75° around the clock until they germinate! Once they germinate, then the ideal temp is 70 during the day and approximately 65 at night. And so it begins! 12 more trays of Lisianthus to go! ... See MoreSee Less

Delay winter garden cleanup until May to support overwintering pollinators! 🌼✨
Traditional winter cleanup can harm beneficial insects like native bees and butterflies, which rely on dead plant material for hibernation. Cutting back plants too early destroys their habitats and reduces natural pest control for spring.
Here’s a better approach:
Fall (Oct-Nov):
- Leave perennials and leaf litter.
- Avoid cutting hollow-stemmed plants.
Winter (Dec-Mar):
- Keep all plant material standing.
- Resist the urge to tidy up.
Spring (Late Apr-May):
- Wait until daytime temps hit 50-55°F before cutting stems.
- Leave some cut stems in your garden for late-emerging insects.
A "messy" garden is a functional habitat providing insulation for hibernating insects and food for birds. Plus, it enhances garden health by boosting pollination and pest control!
For those worried about appearance, focus cleanup on front areas while leaving borders for wildlife. 🐦🌿
